Kiwi, Banana, and Passion Fruit Salad
This vibrant and refreshing fruit salad is a delightful blend of tropical flavors, perfect for a light dessert, a healthy breakfast, or a refreshing snack.
Yields: 4 servings Prep time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe kiwis, peeled and sliced
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 4-5 passion fruits, halved
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
- A few fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized bowl, gently combine the sliced kiwis and bananas.
- Take a passion fruit half and use a spoon to scoop out the pulp and seeds. Add the pulp to the bowl with the other fruits. Repeat for all the passion fruits.
- If you desire a bit more sweetness, drizzle the honey or maple syrup over the fruit.
- Gently toss the salad to ensure all the fruits are coated with the passion fruit pulp. Be careful not to mash the bananas.
- Divide the salad into four serving bowls.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Tips and Variations:
- Add more fruits: Feel free to incorporate other tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, or papaya.
- A zesty twist: Squeeze a bit of fresh lime or orange juice over the salad to brighten the flavors.
- Add some crunch: Sprinkle some toasted coconut flakes, chopped nuts (like macadamia or almonds), or granola on top.
- Make it creamy: Serve the salad with a dollop of Greek yogurt or a scoop of your favorite sorbet or ice cream.
